TV Antennas, Woolgoolga

Two local transmitters cover Woopi, and one of them broadcasts vertically. We meter both, then sort the antennas, reception, satellite TV and WiFi.

Your local TV team in Woolgoolga

Woolgoolga is one of the few towns on this coast with a genuine choice of transmitter. The Greys Road tower sits 2.3 km west of town, Emerald Heights is 4.9 km south-south-west, and Emerald Heights happens to be the only vertically polarised TV site on the entire coast. That one detail decides how an antenna here gets mounted: an aerial set up horizontally for the Moombil or Greys Road signal is in the wrong plane for Emerald Heights. We meter both options at your roof and install for the one that actually performs, then chase down the reception faults salt and wind leave behind.

Up in Woopi the salt does the slow damage. The town centre is 700 m from Back Beach, so mounts and fixings corrode long before the antenna itself fails; we fit corrosion-resistant hardware as standard and re-seal older mounts while we are on the roof.

Our most commonly asked questions

What is different about the Emerald Heights transmitter?

It is the only vertically polarised TV transmitter on this coast; every other site here broadcasts horizontally. You can verify that in the ACMA register. Practically, it means an antenna aimed at Emerald Heights is mounted in a different plane, so gear set up for another tower will underperform on it even when the aim looks right. It carries channels 28 to 32 at 200 watts.

Does Woolgoolga have its own TV tower?

Yes, the RBA site on Greys Road, 2.3 km from the town centre. It is a 50 watt site carrying channels 46 to 51, horizontally polarised, and it shares the job with Emerald Heights to the south. Mount Moombil and Sealy Lookout also reach parts of town. Which one suits a given roof is a meter test, not a guess.

Which channels should a Woolgoolga TV find after a retune?

It depends which tower the antenna faces. Emerald Heights carries channels 28 to 32, the Greys Road site carries 46 to 51, and Mount Moombil carries 35 to 39. If a retune brings back the wrong group or nothing at all, the antenna and the tuning are out of step, and that is worth a look before anything gets replaced.

Do you guarantee your work?

Yes. One year on parts and two years on workmanship, plus free phone advice if something plays up after we have gone.

My picture keeps dropping out, can you fix reception?

Most reception problems come down to the antenna, the cabling or the signal level. We test it on site and fix the actual cause, not just the symptom.

Can you get me internet where there is no good signal?

Yes. We install and align Starlink, and fit 4G and 5G signal boosters for homes and rural properties the towers struggle to reach.

How does pricing work?

The call-out fee is $99 and covers the first half hour on site. If the job needs more than that, you get the full price before any work begins, and we never carry on into extra work without checking with you first.
