Your local TV team in Coramba

Coramba has the hardest TV reception in our service area, and the terrain explains it. The town gets exactly one transmitter, Mount Moombil, 19 km to the south-west, and a 481 m ridge just 4.3 km out blocks that signal path by 161 m. There is no second tower to swing to. So the work here is honest about that: where an antenna can be made to perform, we set it up properly, and where it cannot, VAST satellite TV does not care about the ridge, checked address by address. For internet, Starlink is what Nic is installing on Coramba blocks right now.

Being nearly 12 km from the coast changes the kit list too: no salt spray to fight, so the money goes into signal, not corrosion-proofing. What matters on a valley block is height, aim and a proper meter reading before anyone promises you a picture.

Our most commonly asked questions

Why is TV reception so hard in Coramba?

Two facts do it. Only one transmitter reaches the town, Mount Moombil, 19 km to the south-west, and a 481 m ridge 4.3 km out of town stands 161 m over the signal's line of sight. Blocked path, no backup tower. Most towns on this coast have at least one of those two things going for them; Coramba has neither.

Is there any other transmitter Coramba can use?

No. Mount Moombil is the only site that reaches Coramba at usable strength. That is why the answer here is often not a bigger antenna but a different route: VAST satellite for the TV, Starlink for the internet.

What actually works out here, satellite or Starlink?

They fix different things. Starlink is internet, and it is what Nic is installing on rural blocks around Coramba at the moment. VAST is satellite television, which we install and align, and because it comes from a satellite rather than the mountain, the ridge is irrelevant to it. Eligibility for VAST is checked per address, never assumed for a whole town.

Can an antenna still work on some Coramba blocks?

Sometimes, depending on where the block sits relative to the ridge line. We put a meter on it at the house and let the reading decide. If the numbers are there, we build the antenna setup to suit; if they are not, we say so and talk satellite instead of selling you hardware that cannot work.

Do you guarantee your work?

Yes. One year on parts and two years on workmanship, plus free phone advice if something plays up after we have gone.

My picture keeps dropping out, can you fix reception?

Most reception problems come down to the antenna, the cabling or the signal level. We test it on site and fix the actual cause, not just the symptom.

Can you get me internet where there is no good signal?

Yes. We install and align Starlink, and fit 4G and 5G signal boosters for homes and rural properties the towers struggle to reach.

How does pricing work?

The call-out fee is $99 and covers the first half hour on site. If the job needs more than that, you get the full price before any work begins, and we never carry on into extra work without checking with you first.
